Silica is a trace mineral involved in the body's connective tissues, which is why it's associated with the strength of hair, skin and nails. Horsetail is one of nature's richest botanical sources of it, so each tablet combines a 4:1 horsetail extract equal to 2000mg of horsetail with 200mg of added silica, but silica alone isn't the whole story, so we build it into a complex rather than selling it in isolation.

Each tablet adds 15mg of zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and nails, and 15mg of manganese, which contributes to normal connective tissue formation, plus boron. These aren't padding: zinc and manganese have established, authorised connective-tissue and skin roles, which is exactly why they belong beside the silica.
